Terms of Service
Terms of Service & Policies
Welcome to Bayside Pet Resort (“BPR,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By booking, using, or receiving services from Bayside Pet Resort, you (“you,” “your,” or “pet owner”) acknowledge and agree to the following Terms of Service and Policies. These terms apply to all pets receiving services at BPR, including boarding, daycare, grooming, and related services.
1. Admission Requirements
Bayside Pet Resort reserves the right to refuse or prohibit admission of any pet that:
- Does not have current proof of required vaccinations;
- Displays signs of an untreated, contagious, or potentially contagious illness or condition;
- Exhibits aggressive or unsafe behavior; or
- Otherwise presents a health or safety concern to the pet, other animals, our staff, or the public.
Daycare Requirement: Dogs participating in daycare are required to be spayed or neutered by eight (8) months of age.
BPR reserves the right to require additional information, veterinary documentation, or other measures as reasonably necessary to protect the health and safety of all pets and people at our facility.
2. Required Vaccinations
Dogs and cats four (4) months of age and older must have current vaccinations against Rabies and Distemper.
Dogs must also have a current Bordetella vaccination.
We strongly recommend that dogs receive:
- Bordetella vaccination every six (6) months; and
- Canine Influenza vaccination annually.
Current vaccination records are required for all services. Pets without valid vaccination records may be denied service or admission.
3. Hours of Operation
Bayside Pet Resort is open to the public during the following hours:
- Monday–Friday: 7:00 AM–7:00 PM
- Saturday: 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
- Sunday: 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
BPR is closed to the public in observance of major federal holidays. Holiday hours may vary, and customers are encouraged to confirm holiday operating hours in advance.
4. Late Check-Out & Late Pickup Fees
Boarding
Boarding check-out time is 11:00 AM. This allows BPR sufficient time to prepare suites for incoming guests.
Boarding pets checked out after 11:00 AM may be subject to an additional nightly lodging rate. The late departure fee is waived when a departure bath is added to the reservation.
Daycare
Daycare pets that have not been picked up by closing time may be checked into overnight lodging and will be subject to the applicable nightly lodging rate in addition to the standard daycare rate.
5. Medication Administration
BPR’s Adventure Guide Supervisors are trained to administer medications and supplements to help ensure pets receive them in a timely manner.
Medication administration is subject to a $5.00 daily fee.
Injectable medications are subject to an additional $5.00 fee per administration.
Pet owners are responsible for providing medication in appropriate, clearly labeled packaging and for providing accurate administration instructions.
6. Deposits, Cancellations, Payments & Rates
Boarding Holidays & Peak Periods
Reservations during designated holidays and peak periods are subject to:
- A $10.00 nightly surcharge; and
- A $50.00 deposit.
The deposit is refundable when the reservation is cancelled at least fourteen (14) days prior to arrival.
Grooming Appointments
Our grooming department requests at least 24 hours’ advance notice for cancellations or rescheduling.
If an appointment is cancelled or rescheduled with less than 24 hours’ notice, or if BPR is unable to perform the scheduled service because valid vaccination records have not been provided, a $50.00 no-show fee may apply.
General Payment Terms
All rates, services, packages, fees, and availability are subject to change at any time.
Stays of fifteen (15) nights or more may require a deposit at the time of booking. Extended stays may also require weekly payments throughout the stay. If a stay is extended after check-in, these payment requirements may be applied accordingly.
All clients are required to maintain a valid card on file and authorize BPR to charge that card for all charges associated with their pet’s visit, including lodging, daycare, grooming, medication administration, treatments, fees, and other authorized services.
Any balance that is not paid in full at the time of pickup may be subject to collection efforts.
7. Departure Bath
BPR strongly encourages all boarding dogs to receive a departure bath at the end of their stay.
A departure bath is not included in the standard suite package; however, adding a departure bath waives the applicable late departure fee.
Our Spa Bath package is designed to promote cleanliness and hygiene as pets return home. Depending on the pet’s individual needs, the service may include:
- A mild cleansing shampoo;
- Hydrating conditioner;
- Brushing and blow-out;
- Removal of shedding hair;
- Coat detangling and dematting when appropriate;
- Ear cleaning; and
- Nail trimming and filing.
Our goal is to send every pet home clean, comfortable, healthy, and looking their best.
8. Fleas & Ticks
If BPR staff discovers ticks, fleas, or flea dirt on a pet at check-in, BPR may administer a fast-acting, non-residual oral flea treatment to help protect the affected pet and other pets in the facility.
The cost of any treatment administered will be charged to the pet owner’s account.
9. Grooming & Coat Condition
In cases of severe tangling or matting, BPR may determine that shaving or dematting is necessary to safely and humanely complete the grooming service.
Pet owners acknowledge that severe matting and the resulting grooming process may cause temporary skin irritation or other effects, including clipper burn, brush burn, nicks, or minor cuts.
BPR will take reasonable precautions to minimize discomfort and injury but cannot guarantee that these effects will not occur and cannot be held responsible for complications resulting from the condition of a severely matted or tangled coat.
10. Veterinary Care, Medical Needs & Assumption of Responsibility
Pet owners are solely responsible for expenses incurred in connection with their pet’s care, treatment, or services while at BPR. This includes, without limitation, expenses associated with illness, injury, accidental injury, or damage involving the pet, another pet, a BPR employee, or a member of the public.
By admitting a pet to BPR, the owner acknowledges that, despite BPR’s commitment to a high standard of care, supervision, facility cleanliness, and safety, pets may experience illness, injury, or other unexpected medical conditions.
In the event of an emergency or health concern, BPR will attempt to contact the owner and/or emergency contacts provided to us. While awaiting instructions or veterinary care, BPR may take reasonable action as the circumstances warrant, including administering basic first aid and non-prescription treatments when appropriate.
If BPR determines that veterinary attention is necessary, the pet owner authorizes BPR to transport the pet to:
1. The veterinarian on record;
2. Another veterinary hospital if the veterinarian on record is unavailable; or
3. The nearest available emergency veterinary facility in the event of an emergency.
The owner authorizes the veterinarian to contact the owner directly regarding payment. If the owner is unavailable or unable to make payment at the time of treatment, the owner authorizes BPR, at its discretion, to pay the veterinary bill on the owner’s behalf. The owner agrees to reimburse BPR for all such expenses.
11. Hurricane & Mandatory Evacuation Policy
In the event of a mandatory evacuation affecting BPR’s location, the facility may cease operations and may not be available to provide normal boarding, daycare, grooming, or other services.
BPR cannot predict the intensity, path, duration, or resulting damage from a hurricane or other severe weather event. For this reason, BPR does not recommend leaving pets at the facility during a storm or mandatory evacuation.
If the facility is required to evacuate, BPR will make reasonable efforts to follow applicable emergency procedures and, once authorities permit a return, will do its best to resume care for remaining guests within the limitations caused by storm conditions or damage to the facility.
All boarding clients are required to provide a local emergency contact who may be contacted if BPR is directed or required to evacuate.
If a pet remains at BPR during a mandatory evacuation or severe weather event, the pet owner acknowledges the risks associated with the event and releases BPR, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, from responsibility for harm, loss, injury, illness, or complications resulting directly or indirectly from the storm, evacuation, or related conditions.
12. Abandonment
A pet that remains at BPR for ten (10) days beyond the specified departure date without appropriate arrangements or communication from the owner may be considered abandoned.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, BPR reserves the right to determine the appropriate disposition of an abandoned pet without further notice to the owner.
The owner remains responsible for all charges incurred before and during the abandonment period.
13. Media Release
BPR may photograph or record images and/or videos of pets and their owners while at or participating in BPR services. BPR may use such images, videos, and customer testimonials for social media, advertising, marketing, promotional, or other business purposes.
Customers may opt out of the media release by notifying the BPR Guest Services team.
